Day 264 of 366 ” For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. by Chris Willis 10 on Flickr.
A través de Flickr:
I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move; to feel the needs and hitches of our life more nearly; to come down off this feather-bed of civilization, and find the globe granite underfoot and strewn with cutting flints.” Robert Louis Stevenson
I finally became reunited with a Rough Guide to Japan that Simon bought me, when I had only just met him, and wrote a quote in. This was the quote and it was very appropriate to Japan as I was so uncomfortable trying to sleep on hard Japanese Futons that I only managed one nights sleep the whole trip. That was when we managed to afford a bigger room so I stacked all the spare bedding up and slept on that, like the purple princess that I am!
This quote seems appropriate again as I am off to Ethiopia soon. This time Steve has bought me a Lonely Planet guide. I am very much looking forward to stepping outside of my comfortable bubble that is my life and experiencing a different culture.
