Midnight Shipwreck by Darvin Atkeson on Flickr.A través de Flickr:In LightboxLargest Size
Wedged deeply in to a sandbar the shipwreck S.S. Point Reyes is illuminated by bright moonlight on Tomales Bay along the California Pacific Coast around midnight. Life here stands still as jets leave streaks across the sky in their rush to make it to the airports in San Francisco. Fog rips in at incredible speed across the coastal foothills of Northern California. One of the more famous sites in Point Reyes National Seashore is this old fishing boat has been abandoned and quickly become a shot of interest for tourist and photographers from around the world. The high tides made for a reflection in the creek which flows in to Tomales Bay before heading out to sea in the distance beyond the shipwreck.Matt Granz invited me out for unknown destinations. We hooked up with Miguel (Amigo) and ended up at Point Reyes to shoot the old ship. It was a fast trek up the coast but the nearly full moon illuminated the ship and fog nicely helping to create rich deep colors not seen during daylight shots.
Well worth the trip. Thanks Matt.© Darvin AtkesonLiquidMoonlight StudiosFollow on Facebook
