Umbrage by id-iom on Flickr.A través de Flickr: For starters I think we found a great wall to do this one on. Suitably dingy and derelict looking. It was pretty much just asking for it. And we were happy to oblige. Whilst getting a good photograph proved to be something of a challenge I think we managed to persevere long enough to get a decent shot. We’d usually try to cut the line work a little more delicately but we only had one blunt and crappy scalpel between us when we had the time to cut it. I think a thin or stencil cap would have been nice to touch up the lines but we could only work with what we had and beggars can’t be choosers. In fact given some the sub-standard equipment, the fact that the wall was damp and the generally inclement weather conditions I think this one turned out just fine… Anyway, I’m not entirely sure what our character has taken umbrage with. Maybe it was our poor attempts at set decoration… Cheers id-iom

Jealousy - Xmas 2012 update by id-iom on Flickr.A través de Flickr: Usually we’d drive back home with a car full of paint but this year though we tried to think ahead a little and ensure some art stuff was there on arrival. To facilitate this we took a new invention called the ‘aeroplane’ which is a fixed wing aircraft and is heavier than air but capable of flight using its wings to generate lift caused by the vehicle’s forward airspeed and the shape of the wings, if you’d ever believe such a thing! Travelling with 3 bags between the 2 of us was apparently a no-no (despite the fact that we’d read up on all their baggage rules and regulations and our combined bags were well below the required weight for two passengers). Luckily we managed to circumvent the Man’s rules by the simple expedient of putting one bag inside the other. Finally we were home safe! Not one’s to rest on our laurels we fought the elements to get a few new pieces up and had time to revisit a few older pieces that were still up to see how they have aged. Jealousy was originally put up in summer 2010 and has certainly aged in that time. Plus someone has killed him by adding a red bullet hole in the middle of his forehead. Cest la vie… Cheers id-iom

Now you might wonder where she’s been to look like she is in a 100 mph wind tunnel and the answer is staying out all night at one of those east end warehouse raves. The tell tale signs are the massive black holes that most people call eyes and the incredible gurning jaw which somehow manages to defy the laws of physics with its lopsided irregular movement. day 275 - Huaaaah! (gasp) by AlexTurton on Flickr.A través de Flickr: I had an idea in my head today for my own belly button as it is so big. My idea was to photoshop a doorway into my belly button with the title “delivery entrance to narnia”. Abstract I know. But my belly button was too hairy, and it didn’t look right. My lovely girlfriend displayed her belly to me, and I couldn’t help but draw a face on it. She has a lovely little belly button.

The hidden auditorium of my skull by id-iom on Flickr.A través de Flickr: I like listening to music when I’m painting and sometimes I also like making up a few ditty’s in my musically-inadequate little brain and then proceed to attempt to hum/whistle/sing them. Luckily for me there aren’t that many people to hear these dire arrangements of mine apart from the other half of id-iom and he probably deserves the torture anyway. Surely he owes penance for something, I know he’s no good Samaritan and that’s for sure. Anyway, just yesterday there I was getting ready for Sand, Sea and Spray when a wicked little tune popped into my skull making it nigh on impossible to carry on with what i was doing. To carry on cutting the stencil I was working on was just wrong so with this merry song swirling around in my bonce I jumped in to one of the other studio rooms to see if I could get it ‘from pen to paper’ as they say and inflict it on the nearest wall through the medium of paint. As you can probably tell I failed to portray the tune so settled for something that reflected the futility of what I was attempting. Maybe next time I’ll capture the tune and create a whole new field of art… Cheers id-iom

We have prepared a whole load of stuff which is hopefully already in the clutches of our good man My Dog Sighs for his upcoming Free Art Friday event in Southsea this Sunday. As far as i’m aware he has hundreds of pieces from a wide variety of artists and all you have to do to snag one is head to Southsea and grab one for yourself. It’s a foolproof plan! We’ve provided a variety of pieces (mainly on cardboard) and all come complete with the ‘id-iom certified’ stamp that guarantees authenticity.
