Umbrage by id-iom on Flickr.A través de Flickr: For starters I think we found a great wall to do this one on. Suitably dingy and derelict looking. It was pretty much just asking for it. And we were happy to oblige. Whilst getting a good photograph proved to be something of a challenge I think we managed to persevere long enough to get a decent shot. We’d usually try to cut the line work a little more delicately but we only had one blunt and crappy scalpel between us when we had the time to cut it. I think a thin or stencil cap would have been nice to touch up the lines but we could only work with what we had and beggars can’t be choosers. In fact given some the sub-standard equipment, the fact that the wall was damp and the generally inclement weather conditions I think this one turned out just fine… Anyway, I’m not entirely sure what our character has taken umbrage with. Maybe it was our poor attempts at set decoration… Cheers id-iom

I’ve got a dirty mind by id-iom on Flickr.A través de Flickr: There’s something that has been becoming ever more clear in my mind the older I get and that is that nearly all women are truly depraved. On the surface they may seem composed and serene but in reality they can match any man when it comes to filthy and impure thoughts. When women are in groups the kind of things they talk about aren’t shopping or any new beauty regimes, what is actually talked about is just down right dirty and I don’t mean anything so crass as ‘lady troubles’. These women talk about anything any group of men will talk about but its nearly always about 10 times worse with incredible bouts of vulgarity. The only reason i know this is a technique i’ve learnt called ‘keeping mum and getting drunk’ which, if you’re good at, will eventually lead to them chattering away and forgetting that you are even there. It is at this point that the magic really starts. Next time I’m in half a mind to try and record it - although i’d probably have to fear for my safety for a long time afterwards… Cheers id-iom

The hidden auditorium of my skull by id-iom on Flickr.A través de Flickr: I like listening to music when I’m painting and sometimes I also like making up a few ditty’s in my musically-inadequate little brain and then proceed to attempt to hum/whistle/sing them. Luckily for me there aren’t that many people to hear these dire arrangements of mine apart from the other half of id-iom and he probably deserves the torture anyway. Surely he owes penance for something, I know he’s no good Samaritan and that’s for sure. Anyway, just yesterday there I was getting ready for Sand, Sea and Spray when a wicked little tune popped into my skull making it nigh on impossible to carry on with what i was doing. They can be as simple as a smile or a ‘thank you’ but their effect can really bring about a change in mood. Their polar opposite - negative social interactions (or, you’ve guessed it, NSI’s) can bring about a catastrophic effect on performance when daisy-chained one after another. But we aren’t talking about those today… The lady in this piece understands the rule of the PSI’s and she’s harnessing it to full effect. She’s beaming her best smile straight at you and don’t you just feel good about it? Positive affirmations are what it’s all about and this girl is giving you them by the bucket load. What’s not to like? What cats really think… by id-iom on Flickr.A través de Flickr: I was sat on the computer the other day when my kitten came up and was sitting staring out of the window at some birds on the rooftop opposite and it started making this unusual clicking noise:Youtube link to my kitten making strange clicking noises! I was thinking ‘surely my kitten can’t be broken already! It’s only a few months old!’. Well after a little research on the good ‘ol interwebs I found that this wasn’t a case of my kitten being faulty but is something that cats often do (although i’d never heard it before) when there is some prey or something they want to chase/attack but they can’t get to it so they do it out of frustration. Now i’m sure this is really not surprising to people who have owned cats before as they are always enthusiastic in their willingness to attack small creatures but it led me to making an addition to a picture we did last week (bemoaning my ability to get the hang of tweeting) which I think captures the cuteness of kittens combined with what they are actually thinking… Cheers id-iom

Now i’m sure this is really not surprising to people who have owned cats before as they are always enthusiastic in their willingness to attack small creatures but it led me to making an addition to a picture we did last week (bemoaning my ability to get the hang of tweeting) which I think captures the cuteness of kittens combined with what they are actually thinking…

We have prepared a whole load of stuff which is hopefully already in the clutches of our good man My Dog Sighs for his upcoming Free Art Friday event in Southsea this Sunday. As far as i’m aware he has hundreds of pieces from a wide variety of artists and all you have to do to snag one is head to Southsea and grab one for yourself. It’s a foolproof plan! We’ve provided a variety of pieces (mainly on cardboard) and all come complete with the ‘id-iom certified’ stamp that guarantees authenticity. My main concern is whether i’ll be able to get down in order to snag something for myself… Cheers id-iom
