For starters I think we found a great wall to do this one on. Suitably dingy and derelict looking. It was pretty much just asking for it. And we were happy to oblige. Whilst getting a good photograph proved to be something of a challenge I think we managed to persevere long enough to get a decent shot.
We’d usually try to cut the line work a little more delicately but we only had one blunt and crappy scalpel between us when we had the time to cut it. I think a thin or stencil cap would have been nice to touch up the lines but we could only work with what we had and beggars can’t be choosers. In fact given some the sub-standard equipment, the fact that the wall was damp and the generally inclement weather conditions I think this one turned out just fine…
Anyway, I’m not entirely sure what our character has taken umbrage with. Maybe it was our poor attempts at set decoration…

Jealousy - Xmas 2012 update by id-iom on Flickr.
A través de Flickr:
Usually we’d drive back home with a car full of paint but this year though we tried to think ahead a little and ensure some art stuff was there on arrival. To facilitate this we took a new invention called the ‘aeroplane’ which is a fixed wing aircraft and is heavier than air but capable of flight using its wings to generate lift caused by the vehicle’s forward airspeed and the shape of the wings, if you’d ever believe such a thing! Travelling with 3 bags between the 2 of us was apparently a no-no (despite the fact that we’d read up on all their baggage rules and regulations and our combined bags were well below the required weight for two passengers). Luckily we managed to circumvent the Man’s rules by the simple expedient of putting one bag inside the other. Finally we were home safe!
Not one’s to rest on our laurels we fought the elements to get a few new pieces up and had time to revisit a few older pieces that were still up to see how they have aged.
Jealousy was originally put up in summer 2010 and has certainly aged in that time. Plus someone has killed him by adding a red bullet hole in the middle of his forehead. Cest la vie…
Cheers

A rare cloud-free view of Ireland, Great Britain and northern France by europeanspaceagency on Flickr.
A través de Flickr:
The lush landscapes of Ireland, Great Britain and northern France are pictured in this rare cloud-free view, acquired by Envisat on 28 March 2012.
To the west, thousands of lakes speckle the island of Ireland. Brown rugged cliffs along the coast frame its plush green interior. In the lower-right corner, the river Seine flows through Paris (seen here as a grey area) and snakes toward the English Channel. Following mainland Europe’s coastline north, we can see the Rhine–Meuse–Scheldt delta followed by part of the intertidal Wadden Sea in the extreme top-right corner. The green and tan-tinted swirls in the seas and channels are due to sediments being transported in the water. Sediment is particularly concentrated around Britain’s southeastern coast, carried by the River Thames through London and into the North Sea.

Sunrise, Robin Hoods Bay by dougchinnery.com on Flickr.
A través de Flickr:
A quick upload of an image from a few years ago, taken on August Bank Holiday at sunrise in Robin Hoods Bay. Because of the time of sunrise in August, Elizabeth & I had to get up just after midnight for the two hour drive to the bay to be down on the beach an hour before sunrise, which was tough. But the reward was to have the place to ourselves and to witness a really beautiful sunrise.
I just wish I had the skills back then that I have now, but it didn’t turn out too bad.
I thought I would upload an image of Robin Hoods Bay as this is where I am leading a workshop tonight with a very enthusiastic group. I hope they get good light (the forecast is very promising) and am really looking forward to it. Then tomorrow I am with them down on Saltwick Bay.
Both places have really tough climbs back to the car, but that is the price we pay for being able to be in such beautiful places and the pain of the climb is soon forgotten while the images can be enjoyed for years to come.
